Tallgrass Equine Acupressure

Susan is a Registered Ortho-Bionomy® and Equine Ortho-Bionomy® instructor, Equine Positional Release™ Practitioner and Founder of Equine Body Balance™ and Horses at Liberty Foundation Training™. She has had a lifelong love of horses and began her interest in bodywork while an endurance rider. The need to keep horses and herself fit led her to study bodywork for both equines and humans.

For over a decade, Susan has been a practitioner of Ortho-Bionomy, of which she is currently an instructor.Ortho-Bionomy is itself deeply effective in engaging the body’s innate self-corrective response, leading to sustainable healing. In 2017, Susan embarked on the Tallgrass Equine Acupressure studies, realizing it was a powerful complement to the non-force bodywork she is already doing.

Prior to taking up bodywork, Susan authored numerous books for children and young adults, as well as being a freelance writer/editor.She continues to write and currently has her own blog, “Body Language.”

Susan says: “I am so excited to become a Tallgrass Equine Acupressure practitioner; and to be able to bring this work to the horses in my care. The ability to get such an accurate sense of organic conditions will prove invaluable to my practice.”

Marcia attended a Tallgrass Animal Acupressure introductory course in Tucson in 2000, looking to help her ailing Labrador Retriever. She fell in love with the study of acupressure and continued through the practitioner program, completing the final course in 2007. Along the way, she studied canine nutrition with Wendy Volhard and others, and gained sufficient knowledge to be chosen as a moderator of the online discussion group known as Volhard Nutrition. She interned under Dr Randy Aronson, VMD, to increase her understanding of small animal physiology, the use of Chinese herbs in veterinary treatment, and canine and feline nutrition.

Upon retirement from the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Marcia turned her love of dogs into a training, consulting, and acupressure business. She now practices small animal acupressure in New Mexico, under the name Natural Dog and also spends time in southern Arizona, near Tucson, where she is a veterinary assistant and acupressure practitioner at a busy, 5-doctor veterinary clinic.
